A Connectbase proprietary ID system that provides a unique identification code for every location within the seven continents. The Global ID is categorized as follows:
The first two digits of the Global ID uses the ISO-2 Country Code to identify the specific country in which the location resides
The 11 digits Plus Code, which is encoded from the location’s coordinates (latitude and longitude), represents a 10 by 10-foot grid area
Following the plus code, the first two digits indicates spatial reference information that Connectbase has collected from the building footprint, the county parcel, and/or wireless structure. If the location is a building, the location is defined as:
C for campus
S for single-story building
M for multi-story building
If the location is a right of way or parcel, instead of a building, the location is defined as:
T for tower
P for pole
S for structure
The last two-digits enables the user to assign a number for identification of an access floor or entrance. The default value for the last two digits is “00”.
Note
Global ID is a new classification of data for The Connected World. While not all locations have been populated with the Global ID, Connectbase is working to populate the ID for all locations.

Range of valid values | First four digits is location identifier; next two digits identifies the state; seventh and eighth digits identifies the street address. If an additional three characters is provided, they signify a unique equipment identity for the entity that created the CLLI code. In other words, 8-character CLLIs represent locations; 11-character CLLIs represent switching equipment at a specific location. There is often a one-to-many relationship of Serving Wire Center CLLI locations (8-characters) to multiple switches contained within them (11-characters). Serving Wire Centers are operated by ILECs assigned authorized to deliver service within an exchange. Other service providers may co-locate and operate additional switches within these facilities. |
