Quote and Order

About Configure, Price, Quote

The Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) module provides a systematic workflow that enables you to create, design, and distribute pricing quotes for new or existing customers. CPQ provides choice options for wholesale, channel, or enterprise markets, as well as a complete suite of customizable criteria, including media type, bandwidth, and geographic locations.

Our enriched, location data eliminates stagnant Excel spreadsheets by providing real-time visibility to intersection positioning and competitive dynamics, placing users with the optimum advantage of knowing their on-net, near-net, and competitive opportunities.

In Quoting , you can choose from one of two methods for generating your quotes:

  • You can create a quote from an account containing multiple deals/addresses using the CPQ process flow.

  • You can create a Quick Quote for one or more addresses to simply obtain pricing without having to complete the CPQ process flow.

Guidelines and Best Practices for CPQ

Before you begin, review the following guidelines and troubleshooting tips for using CPQ:

  • Quotes not returning correct pricing - There are a variety of reasons why a quote is either not returning pricing or returning the incorrect pricing for a quote, including: special pricing was requested but default pricing is returned instead, requested a specific speed but that speed is not available at the location, or pricing was not loaded or inaccurately loaded into the supplier's instance. If you are experiencing issues, below are some recommendations for resolution:

    • Verify the correct configuration was entered in the quoting process.

    • Check Network Radar to confirm the supplier is listed there for both serviceability and pricing.

    • Check if there is an active sharing agreement with the supplier for serviceability and pricing.

    • Perform an empty cache and a hard reload procedure in Google Chrome.

    • If you have tried the above options and the issue persists, contact Connectbase Customer Support.

  • Limit for importing locations per quote - The maximum number of locations that can be imported per quote is 2000. For better performance, 500 is the recommended limit for importing locations for quotes.

  • Special characters in CSV uploads - When uploading a CSV file for importing addresses, special characters are NOT accepted for the Latitude and Longitude fields. All other fields accept special characters, however for address fields (Address, City, State, Zip Code, and Country) the special characters are removed in favor of a valid address.

Accessing Quoting

To begin the quoting process:

Click Quoting from the navigation sidebar and the Quoting menu displays on the sidebar.

Quoting provides the following menu options:

  • Accounts Provides a listing of the accounts that you have created using your user credentials. From the accounts list, you can add a new deal to an account, share an account, or remove an account.

Additionally, from within the Account grid, you can double click on an Account field attribute to edit it. For example, if you double click on the Default Currency, a drop-down list displays where you can select a different default currency to apply to the account. Note that Account Name, User, and Created Date are not editable fields.

Click the arrow to the left of an account to view Deals associated with the Account.

  • Quick Quote Enables you to enter a single address for quoting.

  • WIP (Work in Progress) Enables you to view/assign work in progress. You can view your assigned work in progress from the My WIP tab or you can view global work in progress from the Global WIP tab to determine the workflow status of a quote and assigned users. Additionally, based on your instance and user permissions, you may have access to the My Activities and My Blockers functions.

  • Projects Enables you to view, edit, share, or delete your saved CPQ projects.

  • Bid Manager (CBM) Enables you to view your CPQ bid requests. Bid Manager (CBM) is a user-level entitlement. If you are not a CBM subscriber, this tab is not visible to you. Refer to the CPQ Bid Management Process Flow Reference Guide for details.
